The first 6 years of her career were dedicated to Surgical, Emergency, Obstetrics, Operating theatre, and Intensive Care Unit subspecialties with affiliations at prestigious institutions: The Mater Hospital, Kenyatta National Referral Hospital, and The Agha Khan University Hospital. She quickly found herself gravitating to the plastic surgery cases. Lavender enjoyed the challenge and detail that went into the art of remodelling the human body.
